Step 4 - "Goal-Setting"
67"Whats Your Goals Over There?"
Jim Rohns "One Year Success Plan"
This hub start with a good quote from Jim Rohn
"Goals, There´s no telling what you can do when you get inspired by them. There´s no telling what you can do when you believe in them. And there´s no telling what will happen when you act upon them." - Jim Rohn.
"The Success Plan" from Jim Rohn this week is important. Goal setting is maybe the most important thing in your business. It´s your reason why. The goals must be inspiring, it must be believable and it must be one you can act on.
1. Evaluation and Reflection. The only way we can reasonably decide what we want in the future and how we will get there is to first know where we are right now, are we satisfied with the level we are on now? Put in time for evaluation and refection on this for finding out what do you want to achieve.
2. Dreams and goals. What are your dreams and goals? What is it you really want? Not what others want for you, but what you want. Be honest to yourself. Your dreams can make a great difference when you working to achieve your goals. Put your dreams on a paper, and look on it everyday. Let it inspire you.
3. SMART Goals. Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Time-sensitive.
4. Accountability. Tell someone you trust what your Goals are, so they can help hold you accountable. That someone help you stay on track, on "the road" to your dreams and goals.
This week action steps
Any or all of these are great ideas to get your moving towards your goal.
- Take at least an hour this week to sit down and evaluate, reflect and go through the exercise in this week workbook. First they want me to write down evaluation of my current circumstances. My family status, primary family responsibilities , my occupation, work responsibilities, my level of satisfaction (on a scale from 1 to 10), my annual income, my health, what I have accomplished in the past 5 to 10 years, my major purchases in the past 5 to 10 years, what do I do for enjoyment / relaxation, What do I like most about my life? What do I dislike most about my life? .... After this. Do the same BUT this time think of what you want to become five years from now. Then My Life could be ......
- Seriously consider whether or not your past goals have been too low, and if so, how you can stretch them. Be sure they reflect exactly what you want to achieve in life.
- Write down 3 main purposes you have for your time of evaluation and reflection.
- Write down why you think goal-setting is going to be important to you in accomplishing all that you want to accomplish.
- Listening to one Jim Rohn recording about goal-setting. You find it on jimrohn.com
